6 May 14 May Australia/Melbourne Dirty Dingo http://yirramboi.net.au/events/dirty-dingo/ Artist: Peter Waples Crowe Nation: Ngarigo AUS Price ($): FREE The Dirty Dingo Exhibition takes over The Dirty Dozen in the Campbell arcade Subway entrance to Flinders station. Poster images of texta dingos will fill the windows. The Dingo is a metaphor for a second class native. It’s our native dog but not protected across Australia, so it’s seen as a pest in the way of white farming progress. The dingo is misunderstood, and seen as a threat to future. It’s the APEX predator in Australia and it holds the keys to environmental improvement and the reduction of Feral creatures like foxes and cats. Queer, disabled, homeless, drug user, sister girl, brother boy, stolen generation, mental health sufferers, wrong family……….we are the Aboriginal dingoes and we want to celebrate being on the OUTSIDE…so let’s get underground and get down with the Canis Dingoes.
