6 May 14 May Australia/Melbourne Elders Comfort Program http://yirramboi.net.au/events/elders-comfort-program/ Artist: - Nation: AUS/INT In honour of the strength, knowledge, hard work and experience of Elders and Seniors across all of our communities, we have created the Elders Comfort Program accompanying all WEELAM NGALUT (our place) at the Meat Market programming. YIRRAMBOI is a celebration of First Nations arts and culture, and our Festival Team strives to uphold Aboriginal ways of working in our approach to presenting the Festival, as guided by YIRRAMBOI’s Elders Council. Our Elders Comfort Program is one example of how we are celebrating and honouring Aboriginal perspectives and values by creating a special space for Elders from all walks of life, from all cultures, as part of our Festival. YIRRAMBOI\'s Elders Comfort Program is not exclusively for Aboriginal Elders; we strongly believe that all Elders from all walks of life have a role in guiding and guarding our respective cultures and communities.  We encourage each and every one of you to think of your Elders and ask that you encourage them to experience YIRRAMBOI through our Elders Comfort Program. At an Elders Comfort event, Elders and Seniors will be greeted with a respectful welcome by staff briefed on cultural protocols that adhere to Aboriginal values and ways of working, these cultural protocols we extend to all Elders from all backgrounds and cultures in the shared spirit of YIRRAMBOI. The program includes: Elder discounted ticket pricing Drop off points close to the venue and/or assigned parking for community buses Priority access to theatre seating 20 minutes before doors open, for Elders and their families Assigned Elders Lounge areas, where designated staff will be in service to provide tea, coffee, biscuits and juice Shows included in the Elders Comfort Program: Fire Bucket Native Girl Syndrome ARYO (the promise) Triple Bill: Monster, LLAETH (milk) and ASANHU KONGONYA (weaving of the hatchets) La Vie Dans Une Marionette Chasing Smoke BURRUN GANBU (first night) BURRUN NOOGEE (last night) Mission Songs Project Look out for the Elders Comfort Program symbol on our event pages.
