10 May 23 Nov Australia/Melbourne Tigerlilly http://yirramboi.net.au/events/tigerlilly/ Artist: Tigerlilly Nation: AUS Price ($): 15 - 25 Duration: 60 mins TigerLilly are the folk/pop storytelling duo of singer-songwriters Lydia Fairhall and Kali Blunt. In this intimate Salon performance Lydia and Kali will be performing as a three piece with special guest Robert Champion. TigerLilly released their first EP in 2014 through Queensland’s only Indigenous owned and managed record label, Impossible Odds Records. Their first single Fractions was warmly received, sitting at number one on the AMRAP community radio charts for three weeks. With a solid fifteen year career in various ensembles behind her, Lydia has played to audiences from the red sands of the central desert to some of New York’s most seedy and crowded bars and everything in between. Joining her is veteran keys player and vocalist in her own right, Kali Blunt, a tiny force of intelligence and exceptional musicality taken out on a hammond organ and explored through her poignant harmonies. Tigerlilly’s songs are gentle, earth loving songs with grit and a tiny bit of grunt. Melbourne Recital Centre RMIT School of Art art.school@rmit.edu.au Book
