YIRRAMBOI is an exciting First Nations Festival that takes place in Melbourne, on the lands of the Kulin Nations, every two years. We present work set within the continuous cultures and diverse contemporary practice of First Nations artists from Victoria, Australia, and around the world. We shift paradigms and perceptions in how we engage with, talk about, and present First Nations creative practice.

If you’re a lover of the arts or want to learn more about working in the Arts, and gain experience in the different contexts of art projects from many different Australian and International nations, we want to hear from you.

Volunteers are highly valued members of the YIRRAMBOI team, and provide assistance in a range of areas, from event production to marketing, aiding artists and front of house services. YIRRAMBOI seek volunteers across the whole organisation, and shifts vary depending on how busy we are. During peak season (during the Festival), shifts typically last 3-5 hours, and in not-so-busy times (off Festival), we ask for a time commitment between 2 and 8 hours per duty or project requirement.

In addition to the incredible first-hand experience you will receive from working alongside industry professionals and artists, we also offer you:

• An opportunity to work in an First Nations Festival
• Exposure to a great network of both Indigenous and non-Indigenous industry networks
• A volunteer pass during the Festival, which will grant you access to some shows for free or concession prices.

The next YIRRAMBOI is being held 2-12 May 2019. Click here to register your interest in volunteering for the 2019 Festival. Be sure to tell us your name, a little bit about yourself, and in which way you’re interested in volunteering.*

*To be eligible to volunteer, applicants must be over 18 years of age at the time of volunteering.
